The Garmin Foretrex 101 is what I've been looking for; light weight, waterproof, easy-to-use GPS unit for collecting routes, track logs, and waypoints. (5oo waypoints I might add) The Foretrex 101 weighs in at 2.6 lbs. and has enough battery life for 15 hours on 2 AAA batteries.
All for a low cost of $135.00 - $140.00.
Quite impressive. No wonder this was an editor's choice award.
I think it's time to get lost.

Clay, that is the exact same design as the one I have for running. That is perfect. Where the heck do you put the batteries?
I didn't know you were such a hiking nerd, Clay. Actually, I think I did, but it's a hobby you haven't done in a while. I really liked how you wrote this post.
